Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 June 2026

This policy is provided in multiple languages for convenience. If there is any conflict between a translated version and the English version, the English version at /en/legal/privacy prevails.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Agrifia Global Trading Ltd. ("Agrifia", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information when you visit agrifia.com (the "Website") or contact us about agricultural import, export, trading, or brokerage services. The Website is intended for business-to-business (B2B) use by professional buyers, distributors, manufacturers, and trade partners. This policy should be read together with our Terms of Use. It is designed to reflect our actual practices and common privacy-law expectations, including GDPR-style transparency for visitors in the EEA/UK and CCPA/CPRA-style disclosures for California residents, but it is not a substitute for advice from qualified legal counsel.

2. Data controller

Agrifia Global Trading Ltd. is the data controller for personal information processed through this Website. We are a company being established in Cairo, Egypt (commercial registration in progress). Until our registered address is finalized, you may contact us at: agrifia@agrifia.com or +20 122 250 1060. For privacy-related requests, please email us with the subject line "Privacy Request".

3. Information we collect

We collect only the information needed to operate the Website and respond to legitimate business inquiries. This may include:
  • Identity and contact details — such as your name, company name, business email address, phone number, and country or region.
  • Inquiry and RFQ details — such as buyer type, product category, product or grade details, estimated volume, preferred Incoterm, timeline, and free-text messages you submit through our Request a Quote form or by email, phone, or WhatsApp.
  • Technical and security data — such as IP address, browser type, request timestamps, and similar metadata generated when you use the Website or submit a form. We use a truncated or partial IP address for abuse prevention and rate limiting on quote submissions.
  • Communications you send us — if you contact us directly, we retain the content of those messages and any business information you choose to share.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data (such as health, biometric, or government ID numbers) through this Website. Please do not submit export-controlled, confidential, or regulated technical documentation through unsecured channels unless we have agreed a written NDA or secure process.

4. How we collect information

We collect information:
  • Directly from you — when you complete our quote form, email us, call us, or initiate a WhatsApp conversation from a link on the Website.
  • Automatically — when your browser or device connects to our hosting infrastructure, which may record standard server and security logs.
  • Through service providers — when we use hosting or email delivery tools to transmit or store inquiry data on our behalf.
We do not buy personal data lists, and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics pixels on the Website at this time.

5. Why we use your information and legal bases

We use personal information for specific, limited purposes:
  • Responding to inquiries and RFQs — to review your request, contact you, prepare quotations, and discuss potential supply, import, export, trading, or brokerage arrangements. Legal basis: steps at your request prior to a contract, performance of a contract, or our legitimate interest in operating a B2B sales process.
  • Operating and securing the Website — to deliver pages, maintain availability, troubleshoot errors, prevent spam or abuse (including honeypot and rate-limit checks), and protect our systems. Legal basis: legitimate interests in security and service operation.
  • Business records and compliance — to keep records of communications, meet legal obligations, establish or defend legal claims, and maintain ordinary trade documentation. Legal basis: legal obligation and legitimate interests.
  • Improving our communications — to understand which products or markets buyers ask about so we can respond more effectively. Legal basis: legitimate interests, limited to information you voluntarily provide.
Where required by law, we will rely on consent for any processing that is not necessary for these purposes. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing already performed.

6. Sharing and service providers

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with third parties for their independent marketing. We may share information only as follows:
  • Service providers (processors) — trusted vendors that help us run the Website and deliver inquiry notifications, including our hosting provider (Vercel) and, when configured, our email delivery provider (Resend). These providers process data only on our instructions and for the purposes described in this policy.
  • Professional advisers — lawyers, accountants, insurers, or consultants where reasonably necessary and subject to confidentiality duties.
  • Legal and safety requirements — where required by applicable law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to appropriate safeguards.
When you click a WhatsApp link on our Website, you leave our site and interact with WhatsApp/Meta under their own terms and privacy policies. Any information you provide there is collected by those services as separate controllers.

7. International transfers

Agrifia is based in Egypt, but our Website and some service providers may process data in other countries, including the United States and the European Economic Area. Where personal information is transferred outside your country and an adequacy decision or local law requires safeguards, we rely on appropriate mechanisms such as standard contractual clauses, processor agreements, or other lawful transfer tools offered by our providers. You may contact us for more information about safeguards relevant to your request.

8. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described above:
  • RFQ and business inquiries — typically up to five (5) years from our last meaningful contact, unless a longer period is required for trade, tax, or legal compliance, or to resolve a dispute.
  • Email and communication records — retained in line with our ordinary business record-keeping practices and legal obligations.
  • Security and rate-limit data — IP-based rate-limit counters are held in server memory for up to one (1) hour and are not designed for long-term storage; hosting access logs are retained for a shorter operational period defined by our hosting provider.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymize it where feasible.

9. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including server-side validation of form submissions, bot/spam controls, rate limiting, encrypted connections (HTTPS), access restrictions, and careful handling of inquiry data in our email and hosting environment. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your interaction with us has been compromised, please contact us promptly at agrifia@agrifia.com.

10. Your privacy rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information, and to receive a portable copy of information you provided. California residents may also have rights to know what categories of information we collect, to opt out of sale or sharing (we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising), and to limit use of sensitive personal information where applicable. To exercise your rights, email agrifia@agrifia.com with enough detail for us to verify your request. We aim to respond within thirty (30) days, or within the timeframe required by applicable law. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.

11. Cookies and similar technologies

At present, the Website uses only technologies that are necessary for basic operation and language routing (for example, locale selection through our internationalization setup). We do not deploy marketing cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics tools such as Google Analytics or Meta Pixel on the Website today. If we introduce non-essential cookies or analytics in the future, we will update this policy and, where required by law, request your consent before setting them.

13. Children

The Website and our services are directed to business users and are not intended for individuals under eighteen (18) years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have received information from a minor, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, services, or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we publish a new version. Material changes may also be highlighted on the Website where appropriate. Continued use of the Website after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.

15. Contact us

For privacy questions, requests, or complaints, contact Agrifia Global Trading Ltd. at agrifia@agrifia.com, by phone at +20 122 250 1060, or through our Contact page.
